Thus we decided to make another soya sauce chicken for you again but this time with a twist – we will be adding Chinese Rose Wine to the concoction.
Here’s the video showing how we made this yummy chicken. You can also get the list of ingredients at the end of this post.

Ingredients:
Step 1: Marinate Chicken (marinate for at least 2hrs)
———
1.3 – 1.5kg chicken
2 cups of superior grade dark soya sauce
5 slices of young ginger
2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
2 tablespoons of Chinese rose wine
1 stalk of spring onion
Some pepper to taste
Step 2: Braising the Chicken
———
2 sticks of cinnamon bark
1 piece of star anise
15g of rock sugar
9 cloves of garlic (roughly crushed)
2 litre of water
1 teaspoon of salt
Step 3: Preparing the chicken to be cut & served
———
Smear some sesame oil onto the skin of the chicken while you leave it to be cooled down before you cut it up. This will help to give the chicken a nice sheen.
Happy cooking!
